"El viaje del fuego"

From the 24th till the 29th of January the third Sonador-Cultural-Festival on the Finca Longo Mai took place. To this occasion, the project teams from Vida Nueva as well are asked to make a contribution.
Therefore, the current circus directors Jullian Hensel and Chrsitina Deyringer decided at the end of December to create a play with the middle and young circus group.
At the beginning of January it started: First of all, we studied several books with short stories in Spanish and German, but unfortunately it emerged, that no one was of use for a circus work.
One night, Chrstina Deyringer had the brain wave for a matching plot. We were working out the idea as well as thinking about the performance of each scene.
Our aim was to use very little text,

but making the audience understand the story with the use of body language, theatre and especially acrobatic parts.
Here a résumé of the plot of the work “el viaje del fuego””:

“During the past decades, the planet Fuegota (fuego + gota) warmed up

more and more, so that a water shortage caused several wars among the inhabitants of the planet.
In the year 2345, the heat on the planet has become so unbearable,
that their inhabitants travel through the galaxy in order to discover an

alternative planet.
When one of the astronauts eventually announces to have found the cool planet called Refrilaxia being abundant of water, the joy among the Fuegota-inhabitants is great, they will survive. Reaching the planet Refrilaxia, the Fuegotas get problems with the Refrianos, who do not want them to be on “their” planet. A battle takes place. When everybody is lying exhausted on the floor, one of each group is getting up, performing difficult acrobatic exercises together. Seeing

were you can get working together with the “strangers”, all the others are looking for a partner to do acrobatic gymnastics, too. In the end, there is a great party with salsa music.”

Fortunately, the kids had school holidays at that time, so that we could practice frequently, partially

two times a day. They learned fast and soon, they could identify themselves with the play.
This preparation period for the presentation at

the Cultural-Festival was a lot of fun but stressful as well. That is why, the voluntary three-day visit of Micaela Piedra came at the right time for us. Without her extreme commitment as well as her specialized knowledge, it would have never come to such a nice presentation later on.

Thank you very much!!!!
