How to get there

In San José:
Buses to San Isidro de El General are run by the company Musoc.

The bus station is located next to the "Hospital de la mujer" (Plaza Musoc).

Timetables (San Jose - San Isidro):
Musoc: 5:30 - 17:30 (every hour)
The trip lasts for 3 hours and costs about $3 (1140 colones).

iIn San Isidro de El General, take the GAFESO bus (Avenida 2, Calle 3-5, 100 meters east from church) to Buenos Aires, which leaves daily at 5:15, 6:00, 7:20, 8:30, 10:00, 11:30, 12:15, 13:30, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00. Ask the bus driver to let you off at Longo Mai (after about a 45 minutes ride). There is a small road uphill, walk about 1,5 km (20 min.) and you should be in the village, ask for Edith, everybody knows her.

Another possibility is to take a TRACOPA bus from San Jose, which goes directly to the south (Calle 14, Avenida 5, costs 3 US$) The buses leave daily at 5:00, 7:00, 8:30, 10:00, 13:00, 14:30 and 18:00. Again ask the driver to let you off at Longo Mai.
